With a history spanning 159 years, Stamford Brass has been a cornerstone of musical excellence and community engagement. Our band is dedicated to preserving the rich tradition of brass band music while actively serving and enriching the local community through performances and community events.

Based in Stamford in South Lincolnshire, Stamford Brass is a traditional brass band made up of 29 musicians under the leadership of Julian Bright.

Our musicians come from a wide geographical area from Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire and Norfolk, including Stamford, Peterborough, Whittlesey, Spalding, Donington, Leicester, Cambridge and Kings Lynn.

In recent years the band has been successful on the contesting stage winning the 2018 National Finals of Great Britain (4th section), winning the Midland Areas in 2020 (3rd section) and winning the Midland Areas in 2022 (2nd section). The band are currently in the 1st section.

With a member relocated abroad, and a goal to rebuild our percussion section, we currently have openings for:
*Solo Cornet and/or Back Row Cornet (positions negotiable)*
*Percussionists (including kit players)*
We are a friendly award-winning, community-driven ensemble, rehearsing twice a week with a sensible calendar of engagements and contests.
